Preschool day 1

1st day in preschool (11/21/12)

I arrived to the preschool at 8:20 a.m and that was when some of the other preschoolers were still arriving. I first met 6 wonderful preschool teachers. They were all really nice and then I met a 2 in a half year old girl. I read her a book and what was interesting to see was how she would point to the images at such a young age. When I finished reading that book, she would bring me more to read.Then, some of her other classmates would stop by and listen and they would also bring some of their books so that I could read to them.They had free play,cooking time,reading time,snack time,nap time,and fun time. I was with a group of kids who are about to go to kindergarten "The Turtles" and their I met many kids but the ones I really remember are Thomas and Ruby because they would always talk to me about how some certain toys had a special value to them because their parents got it for them at the Disneyland. Both, of them shared to me very interesting stories about things they like and things they like to do. Man, I forgot that it was pajama day! I was in such a rush that I forgot that and I'm very disappointed that I forgot! Next time I'm jotting it down on my planner!I had such a wonderful time with them and I really hope to see them soon!Hopefully by then I will teach them something.So many ideas but I rather keeps those between my mentor and I for now.I had so much fun with them that I hope to see them in January. I miss them so much!...(can't wait to study this in college!)

Macbeth's personality test

Dear Macbeth,
This is your Dr. Vanessa Campos. I wanted to let you know that I got your results for your personality disorder test. You can come and see your results any time at my office but I will list the disorders in which your results were "high" or "very high" in this letter. According to the test results, I'm afraid to tell you that you got a high case of paranoid,schizotypal,antisocial, and narcissistic disorders. I will now list to you what each one means. A Paranoid personality is when you have a deep distrust over people near you and you also think that the people around you have sinister motives, as in those people want to harm you in some shape or form. Symptoms occur when you can't trust anyone but yourself. How can you treat this? Well,people with these symptoms are hard to treat because they tend to have a type of suspicion over their Dr. but, with the right medication and therapy sessions you should be fine after a couple of months. A schizotypal personality is when you have an odd way of thinking and perceiving others.You also tend to isolate yourself from others and you also have a hard time understanding things.People also have a hard time understanding you. Symptoms occur when people have a difficult time understanding you.How can you cure this? Well, according to my research,there is no cure for this symptom.A antisocial personality is when you have poor social skills and you tend to have criminal behaviors.You tend to lie and steal and you don't really care about the consequences.Symptoms occur when the feelings of others don't matter to you.How to cure this? Well, there is also no actual cure for this. Last but not least, a narcissistic disorder is when you seek all the attention on yourself and you tend to exaggerate your achievements to the point that you expect others to think that you are superior than them. How can you cure this? Well, there is also no cure for this disorder. But, I believe that if you take your therapy sessions you should be fine within a couple of months.Thank you for your time.

Google research

After researching about the "Fiscal Cliff" the Democrats differ from the Republicans because both Democrats and Republicans can't seem to agree with laws,reforms, and things that would benefit the U.S.. But, the "Fiscal Cliff" has three options as to weather they should tax workers by 2%,do something with taxes that would get the economy out of recession, and or reach some sort of compromise. These three options don't seem too attractive to the people but Barack Obama will have to make a decision because then all these taxes can have a disadvantage to the Obama care or medicare. This topic was a bit confusing but the websites did have the same sort of relavant information.
Well, the new techniques benefited my search today because I would put "OR" and quotation marks in between certain phrases to find what I was looking for. Adding OR in between the Democrats and Republicans gave me more accurate results about the "Fiscal Cliff". I actually thought that these strategies were really helpful because they helped me find what I was looking for. Typing in dates gave me inaccurate information. So I guess I can say that was not helpful.I will apply these strategies in the future because it will help me find more accurate and more relavent information when doing research about Earlychildhood development.The only strategies that were new to me were the OR and the quotation marks.

Bell Hooks:Values of love and Honesty

I think the most important apects of love are honesty, openness, personal integrity, practice, trust, faith, courage, commitment, responsibility, and respect. I think that these aspects of love are important because if you can't have these in a relationship then we are most likely not going to have a well working relationship. It won't work out and it can lead to problems and maybe even a break up. Relationships wern't made to be perfect but we need to know how to respect each other and practice these aspects of love so that we can have a healthy relationship;as in not having physical or emotional abuse. I think that the aspect of love that people tend to forget about the most is honesty. I think that people forget this one occassionaly because they don't want to hurt their significant other or because they are caught in a situation where they feel that lying can get them out of the problem that they are in. Like people say "Honesty is the best policy" and I also think that in order to know how to love we have to tell the truth. The truth is always going to hurt us no matter what and I think I rather hear the nasty truth instead of believing in a lie. And in a matter of time we will find out the truth eventually. A relationaship takes time and we need to know how to work things out or at least try.

Social

My type is "Social" and what this means is that I like to contribute to society and that I rather work with people than work with machines. That I probably also like to give advise and help others. Some of the majors include counseling, nursing, academic dean, personal recruiter, and a coach. These results are actually a bit accurate as to what I like and what I want to probably major in. It's accurate because I actually want to be a able to work with kids and these careers are in a way related to Early Childhood Developement because I guess you can say that I can work with kids. I was actually expecting to see some type of teaching career on here but I guess it's ok because in a way it's connected with what I want to do because it involves being with children and helping others with problems. This doesn't change my idea about what carreer to persue after high school because I am positive that I want to do Early Childhood Developement as a career. But, I could also change my mind over time. Which I doubt though but there is always that possiblity. The reason I want to do Early Childhood Developement is because I've always been around kids and I just enjoy helping little kids. And that's what I want to do after high school.

My Hero

My hero is my uncle Ramon Martin Huerta. He is my hero because he was actually govenor of Guanajuato in Mexico and he always felt that it was important to help those who needed it. He would give jobs to those who did not have jobs. He would try to accomidate them to whatever they were good at doing. When the Christmas season came he would get many trucks full of toys and then give it to the kids in need. His personal story is a "Rag to Riches Story" because his father died when he was just a little boy. He paid for his own education and he worked very hard each day so that he would be able to provide for his family because he had five other siblings. This relates to the things that we have stuided about heroes because  the heroes in "Real Life Super Heroes"  try to help the poor people who live on the streets by providing them with personal necessities. And they also try to fight crime by defending the citizens. These two stories relate to one another because they both try to help the poor people by giving them a bit of happiness with simple things. And both of them get really happy when they help the people in need. They ask for nothing in return and them helping those in need does make them Heroes. I look up to my uncle and that's why he's my hero. Unfortunatly, he died in a helicopter crash seven years ago with seven other people aboard. But, he is still a great example of a hero. The only difference is that he didn't fight crime physically but he had to fight against druglord violence so that he could end that in Mexico. He died doing what he liked to do and that was finding new ways to help people.

Blogs about other Blogs

One of the blogs that I followed was "The ABC &amp" and it is about Early Childhood Development". It talks about how children who go to preschool have a better chance of finishing college on time and the study was made between children in the ages of 4 to 24. And they saw that 50% of 7 to 21 year olds had at least a Bachelor's degree. This is because when they go to preschool they learn how to actively pay attention. I chose this blog because i thought it was really interesting when I read this and I actually want to major as an earlychildhood development specialist. The second blog that I chose was one that is called "Classroom DYI" and it talks about earlychilhood development and what preschoolers need to learn in order to to succeed in preschool. It talks about what you need to teach them. It also discusses how they need to do activities with their hands. I chose it because I found it interesting how there are certain things that you have to teach them which involves them using their hands. The third one I chose was a blog about Mrs. C and it is about teaching at an elemenatry school level. I chose teaching because it is closely related to earlychildhood development and I'm debating as to wheather I should do teaching or earlychildhood development. I also found it interesting because it talked about interesting books that you can read to children. All these blogs are really interesting and they are very informative.

Freedom to Speech

I believe that the creater of this video did violate the first amendment because the first amendment states the freedom of religion,press,petition,assembly,and speech. He discriminated the muslims by mocking their prophet Muhammad which caused them to protest in fury about religious sensitivity,demagogy and resentment.If the United States wants these rights for themselves then they should apply it to muslims to and not disrespect them the way they did by mocking Muhammad and their religious beliefs. They should "treat others the way you want to be treated." Because I'm sure that if the muslims made a video about mocking Jesus Christ, I know people who are catholic wouldn't like it either. We might not have the same religious beliefs but people should be treated with respect. Well, this right was broken and that's how we know that we need to draw a line because this is affecting our nation and the muslims. And the video should be taken off Youtube because the fact that they don't want to remove it is how we know that they really crossed the line. If it's really disrespectful to muslims and we should really keep away from problems to prevent anyone from taking this to seriously and taking it to war. At this point anything can happen and I wouldn't blame them. It was an American made video and if we disrespected them I wouldn't be surprised if they would want to do something to us. I just think that who ever did this should have the guts to stand up and say sorry even if it means having to hide after. Sorry may not do anything but why should get Americans involved into this. If muslims take this to seriously then America can possibly have a bad outcome,possibly war. For example, Ali stated that "we never insult any prophet-not Moses,not Jesus." And I really agree with this statement because if they didn't insult us or say anything about Jesus then why should we be disrespecting muslims and their faith.

Do We Need a Hero?

I believe that anyone can be a hero and that we don't necessarily need just one person to be a hero. A firefighter, police officer, and anyone else can be a hero. But, yes I do believe that our society does need a hero. The qualities that people need to be a hero are awareness of your surroundings, willing to help others, speed to get at the scene on time, respect, and manners.I think it's possible to "combat" these "forces of evil" for example, in the summer a life guard was interviewed for saving the life of a person who was technically on the opposite side of the beach at where he was working. He got fired because he went out of his section of the beach to save this person who was drowning. His heroic action saved the life of this person who was drowning and he is currently or was at the hospital. He did a good thing and in return he got fired. He asked for nothing in return but he got a certificate for doing such a heroic act. He said that it was "an act of impulse" and that he just did it. A few days they later, the company decided to hire him back and he chose not to accept the offer because he was unfairly fired for doing the right thing. And he wants to keep helping people. I think this a perfect example of who a hero really is. He did fight the "forces of evil" because he stood up to his boss and he refused to be rehired again.

Education

I believe that education in America is really important because we are the future of America and if we are not well prepared for the world then we're only going to make America worse instead of helping it. We are also the new generation and so there is going to be a point where teachers, doctors, and etc. will retire and we as college graduates are going to obtain these and or other jobs and if we are not well prepared then America is going to be worse because people aren't going to be well prepared and therefore, we won't be able to help the economy rise or help people.Also, having a degree in something has a huge benefit. For example, the article Even for Cashiers, College Pays Off states that "construction workers, police officers, plumbers, retail salespeople and secretaries, among others, make significantly more with a degree than without one.This is because "education helps people do higher-skilled work, get jobs with better paying companies or open their own businesses." Education is very important in my life because I actually want to do Early Childhood Development or do Teaching as a career and so if I go to college it will help me in the long run. Yes, it might be expensive but I think that it's worth it because I will be able to work with kids and I will actually have a job that I like as to someone who has to work in something they don't like because they chose the wrong career or they didn't have the money to go to college to study a career they wanted. My plan is to go to community college first and to make sure that I take the right classes so that I'm able to transfer to S.F state on time. And this is why I believe that college is important to America and myself.

As a senior I'm really excited to be on the cross country team.Hopefully I will make it to varsity today. And I'm also looking forward to be in the Hermanas program but i won't find out if I'm in until next week. If I were to be stranded on an island i would bring a first aid kit,a walkie talkie,and maybe a tool box. I think I would bring these items because it would help me survive on the island.
